Bobby’s culinary philosophy is simple, like his food: respect ingredients, cook with integrity and be honest on the plate. While it’s hard to define the range in Bobby’s menu at Butchertown Grocery, the common thread is that every dish is personal and reflects a point in his life where good food made a lasting impact.
Bobby earned his stripes in top kitchens across the country, including renowned regional establishments like The Oakroom, La Coop and Union Commons in Nashville. At Butchertown Grocery, he is realizing his dream of creating a restaurant with approachable food, an inviting atmosphere and a third space for locals to enjoy. In short, a restaurant for the people.
When guests are greeted by the aroma of fresh-baked bread or decadent chocolate chip cookies, they can thank Barbara. Growing up in a military family, she was exposed to a variety of cuisines and cultures from an early age. But it was her mother who first sparked her passion for pastry – a passion that would lead her to earn a degree in baking and pastry arts from Sullivan University. Barbara has completed master classes from prestigious Swiss chocolatier, Felchlin, and served as an instructor in Sullivan’s pastry program for the past 10 years.
